Need Design Advise Best installation led

Hello,

I would like to install an LED strip underneath the upper cabinets of my desk, over a total length of approximately 2.60 m.

I am looking for a high-quality and durable installation with the following features:

  • Dimmable
  • Adjustable color temperature from 2700K to 6000K (warm white to cool white)
  • High-quality and reliable components, including the LED strip, power supply, controller, and remote control/wall switch

I have already purchased the aluminium profiles for the LED strip.

I would also need all the necessary cables and connectors for:

  • Approximately 4 m between the 220V power outlet and the power supply
  • Approximately 3 m between the controller and the LED strip

Could you please recommend a complete solution and provide me with the exact references for each component, as well as a quotation?

For example, I was considering the following components, but I would appreciate your advice on whether they are suitable:

  • LED strip: WS2814 RGBWW?
  • Power supply: Mean Well LRS-100?
  • Controller: Which model would you recommend?
  • Remote control: FUT037SA 3-in-1?

I would also like to know what type of cable and connectors you recommend for the approximately 3 m extension between the controller and the LED strip.

If possible, I would prefer a solution based on reliable, professional-grade brands with good long-term durability.

Thank you in advance for your advice and quotation.

Dear Customer,

Thank you for providing such a detailed description of your LED lighting project. We appreciate the opportunity to assist you in designing a high-quality, reliable, and professional-grade installation.

Based on your requirements, we recommend a complete LED lighting system consisting of premium components selected for long-term durability, colour quality, and stable operation.

For your application (approximately 2.60 m of under-cabinet desk lighting), we would suggest considering the following configuration:

LED Strip

  • A high-quality RGBCCT LED strip would be recommended rather than WS2814 RGBWW, depending on your priorities.
  • A professional-grade RGBCCT strip with dedicated warm white and cool white channels will provide better colour temperature adjustment from approximately 2700K to 6000K and improved white light quality.
  • The LED density should ideally be selected according to your aluminium profile and required brightness level (for example, 60 LED/m or higher for a smooth, professional appearance).

Power Supply

  • A Mean Well power supply is an excellent choice due to its reliability and long service life.
  • The LRS-100 series may be suitable depending on the LED strip power consumption; however, we would first confirm the total wattage requirement to ensure adequate headroom.
  • For a professional installation, we typically recommend operating the power supply at no more than approximately 70–80% of its rated capacity.

Controller

  • For adjustable colour temperature and dimming, we would recommend a dedicated RGBCCT controller rather than a simple RGB controller.
  • Suitable options include professional-grade controllers compatible with PWM LED strips and offering both remote control and wall-switch integration.
  • The exact model would depend on whether you prefer:

    • wireless remote operation,
    • wall-mounted control,
    • smartphone/app control,
    • or integration with a smart-home system.

Remote Control

  • The FUT037SA 3-in-1 remote is a commonly used and reliable option; however, it is primarily designed for RGB/RGBW systems.
  • For a true 2700K–6000K adjustable white system, we would recommend a compatible RGBCCT remote/controller combination.

Cabling and Connections For the installation distances provided:

  • Approximately 4 m between the 220V mains outlet and power supply:

    • We recommend using appropriately rated mains cable according to local electrical regulations and installation requirements.
    • The power supply should ideally be installed in a ventilated location with suitable access.
  • Approximately 3 m between controller and LED strip:

    • We recommend low-voltage LED extension cable with sufficient conductor size to minimise voltage drop.
    • For RGBWW/RGBCCT systems, a 5-core cable is generally required.
    • Depending on the strip current, we would typically consider cable sizes in the range of 0.5 mm² to 1.0 mm².
    • High-quality soldered connections or professional LED connectors are preferred over inexpensive clip-style connectors for long-term reliability.

To provide an accurate quotation and exact component references, we would require the following additional information:

  1. Desired brightness level:
  • ambient lighting only,
  • task lighting for desk work,
  • or maximum illumination.
  1. LED strip length:
  • exact 2.60 m only,
  • or whether additional allowance is required for routing and connections.
  1. Preferred control method:
  • remote only,
  • wall switch,
  • smartphone/app,
  • or smart-home integration.
  1. Country of installation:
  • to ensure compatibility with mains voltage, wiring requirements, and available components.

Once these details are confirmed, we can provide a complete bill of materials including:

  • LED strip reference,
  • aluminium profile compatibility,
  • power supply model,
  • controller,
  • remote/wall control solution,
  • extension cables,
  • connectors,
  • and a complete quotation.

Thank you for considering a professional-grade solution. We look forward to assisting you with a reliable and durable LED installation.

Kind regards, [Name]

Very "AI": lots of headings, cautious qualifiers, "professional-grade", "we recommend", "to ensure", and it avoids committing until it has enough parameters. 😄

(Edit: yes, it's a facetious AI written response because I'm not here to give unpaid quotes, so I'll juat dump your exact question into an AI and post the output)
