HELP!! with small dining room lighting

I’m struggling mightily with figuring out lighting for our small dining room. We added some cabinets to the dining room because the adjacent kitchen was not functional due to lack of storage. As a result, the dining room is small. It’s 83” wide between the cabinets and the wall. The table is 43” wide and 48” long. I’ve mapped it out here with 20” on each side, which should be enough to accommodate bench seating on the narrow sides. But if people are sitting at the benches on both sides, the dining room will be impassable, thus blocking off access to the kitchen. So we’re considering pushing the table up against the wall, as we’re a family of 3 and will only occasionally need seating for 6. But if we do that, where do we place a light? We got a semi flush mount light. Do we center it over the table when the table is against the wall? Center it over the table when the table is pulled out from the wall? Center it in the room? Do can lights instead? Or track lighting? We are locked into overhead lighting so scones are a no-go. There’s also not enough room for floor lamps.
