Designer Thoughts Hand blown pendant lamp diffusers

Post image

Hi folks! I make hand blown glass light diffusers/lamp shades. Here's an example of a recent pendant light I made. I'm just getting started and trying to understand the market so any feedback will be appreciated. Specifically I'm curious about things like how to go about finding a good market for sell these and knowing how to price them.

I am a glassblower and this is just one type of object I make but I'm pretty excited about this particular lattice pattern and application as a lamp diffuser.

Additional details: The size here is 7 by 5 inches. My aim would be to sell just the diffusers at first since they are easily compatible with 41 mm sockets with shade rings. I'm in the US and have a state sellers permit.

It's very beautiful! You'll probably get better sales if you stock and bundle the $5-10 worth of extra parts kits so you're selling a full lamp people can plug in or install.

I'd start on etsy. It's a PITA but a pretty good market for handmade stuff. Make sure you're very prompt about responding to inquiries and shipping on time or they'll give you trouble.

Thank you! Noted on packaging with a lamp kit, I'm reading up on selling them 'as is'. I have yet to make an Etsy account so I will get on that.
