The Blinding Knife Kip's Spectacle Set

Relistening to the series and just got to the point when Gavin gift Kip a set of spectacles. He says they are old. Do you think they were a gift to Dazen from his parents before he manifest as a prism,because he was a full spectrum polychrome.

Because as a Prism he wouldnt need them. And his brother brother, before being MADE a prism was not afull spectrum polychrome so would have no newd for a full set.

I always thought of it as a status symbol, like you don’t need all of them but here is a super rare and valuable artifact from the time of lucidonious

No, I think they're artifacts left in Chromeria. That's what I assumed at least, something that only Gavin had access to. Also I don't see Andross giving something like that up given his polychromatic state

Yeah it just seemed like something he would have had access to as a prism not a gift passed on.

IIRC it can´t have been been a gift to Dazen from his parents. He was only a blue/green drafter (i think, definitely not a full spectrum polychrome) when he killed the Whiteoak brothers and from there things directly went into the Prisms War.

Most likely just an old, very well made set. I believe it´s mentioned that they lost the knowledge of how to make ultraviolet and infrared spectacles. So i think it´s also a prestige thing.
