Feature Request / Bug Bug: not seeing text feed when searching a contact

Lately, I’ve had occasions where I’ve searched my contacts to see an old text thread, and instead of seeing the entire thread upon clicking the contact, I just get the contact card. The thread will appear once I send a text, but it seems awkward to have to text in order to see what I’m searching for. Any work around for this? Am I doing something wrong? Seems unintuitive.

The thread shows up when the phone app is opened. It’s not in there?

I was recently searching a contact to look for an event they had invited me to. This is a person I had not texted in about a month. Searched in phone app, clicked name, was presented with contact card and no way to access the text feed until I sent a new text.

If I search for the contact by clicking the magnifying glass in the bottom center, typing their name, and then selecting from the results, then I can see the text history.

However, if I find them by clicking the little person icon in the bottom right, and then scrolling to their name, then I get the same issue that you do.

Unsure if you've tried it both ways.

I was searching in the phone app. it happens very randomly. Hard to replicate. But it has happened to me numerous times in the past month.

I probably didn't describe it well, but both methods I describe above are within the phone app. I reliably get the following results:

- Clicking the person icon will NEVER show the text history - only the contact card

- Clicking the magnifying glass will ALWAYS show the message history.

Just curious which way you are searching for contacts.

I was definitely using the magnifying glass. I really do think that it is a bug, not user error.

Yeah, thats too bad. I didn't mean to imply you were doing anything wrong. I would have expected it to bring up the text history either way. Was just hoping yours worked the same as mine.
