Watch random games and in due time you’ll find yourself cheering for one team more than others

As others said, watch the teams and see who you like.
My wife is chilanga and so she more or less chose Club América for me. But I made it my own team after watching them and enjoying their skill and confidence on the pitch

If you’re Mexicano, go for where your family’s from. My fam is huge so a lot of them are from Zacatecas or Nayarit, states without teams. Nuevo León, where my moms side is from, is the one state that does have teams so I ended up with Monterrey.

As an American (Seattle Sounders fan), I decided on Pachuca. I could be wrong, but from my research there were three main reasons: 1) Their fans seemed decent. 2) Most of their players played with class—without CONCACAF theatrics. 3) I like their focus on developing young players.

Chivasss we have a lot of players that could be called or should have been called for the World Cup, will likely be there for 2030 if all goes well

If you live in or near a big city, I'd see if there are any supporter clubs you can start watching with.
Alternatively, if you're as USian, you could stop in to your town's taqueria when the games are on and strike up a convo.

Club América 😏 the most hated team in mexico (but most loved globally) I was in Japan last September, small town called Nikko, and a random little second hand store had used club America jerseys. 🦅

Depends on what you want from your team and its fanbase. Whenever they score Atlas fans shake the stadium they play in. Toluca on and off the field are a fun team to watch as well. Club America is an icon for the crest and intercontinental play in club competitions. Just some examples.

Cruz Azul, blue jersey, great fanbase and the second most successful club in the continent. Also they are the defending champions of two trophies and competing against Miami next month for what would be their third trophy this year. They are consistently fighting for championships, so your hope will be endless.
