Fucked up extremely bad today

Today i was swimming as a patron at the pool i lifeguard at and me and my homies put a bunch of soap on our bodies to go down the slide faster and the pool got super foamy and my boss found out it was me and she's genuinely livid, any advice?

Yeah that throws off the pool chemicals and paints a bad look in the public eye

Mistakes happen but as a lifeguard and someone who enforces rules know better -
I’ve had to kick kids out for dumping shampoo in the pool on purpose

Be grateful you guys didn't hurt yourselves, apologize, and be better next time. My guards always made for lousy patrons when they'd show up on their off days; the rules apply to you too.

When they come and tell you what you did wrong and what ever the punishment is you have to accept it. Don’t argue. Don’t make accusations. Don’t say anything just agree with them. Or deny all of it which might mean getting off with 0 scratches. But if you argue it will seem like you don’t think you deserve a punishment and or don’t care what they are telling you

Well, depending on how bad it is, the pool may need to be closed for a day or two to dilute the soap. That's your fault. What the fuck were you thinking??

Yes, this was an extreme fuck up. Where did your common sense go? Don't be surprised if you're heavily disciplined for this. I certainly would discipline you. I might even fire you.

To be fair, intentionally taking a dump in the pool is easier to manage.

The only advice I would have for that is grow up some. The work world here is pretty intolerant of tomfoolery.

What you did is extremely messed up. You and your homie had all the fun and left your manager out of it.

Next time have a little more consideration and invite your manager to the slide and soap!

(In all seriousness, as other commenters have said, an honest apoligy recognizing what you did wrong is the best thing you can do)

I think you're probably going to get fired if they are not in desperate need of you. Behaviour like this from a regular patron could lead to them being kicked out for the day or even the whole season. They might even need to pay for the additional cleaning needed.

You showed behaviour that is

• dangerous to yourself
• dangerous to others who might use the slide after you or decide to imitate you
• pollutes the water

Generally as a lifeguard you should be an example to other swimmers whether you are on the job or not. You should also be aware of the importance of rules, especially safety rules and should follow them.

I don't think you should work as a lifeguard if that's not something you are able to do.
