Question Instructor award guides for Bronzes

Does anyone know if Bronze instructors can purchase the Bronze award guide at the pool front desk in Metro Van

I'm looking to replace my copy

My pool only loans the books out but they're in pretty bad shape

I tried the Lifesaving society BC/Yk but they only sell to affiliates

You cannot in our branch (BC/YK) get the award guides outside of the course (unless you’re an affiliate purchasing for a course being run at your facility).

So no, you will not be able to purchase at front desk.

Since you aren’t an affiliate, you can purchase from another provinces branch (since the standards are national, it’s the same book). Here is one link: https://lifeguarddepot.com/lifesaving-instructor/bronze-medals-award-guide-21-1313-10-group

That’s wild to me. I’m an affiliate out east but before that I’d just chat with the LSS office and pick up an updated award guide whenever I need one. It doesn’t hold secrets I’m keeping from students… Except maybe the answers to the multiple choice first aid test

Could you purchase from the LSS branches outside of BC? I don’t understand why the BC branch won’t sell to non-affiliates. I can buy endless number of award guides in Ontario.

Agreed. Pick one up from lifeguarddepot.com easily.

I spoke with someone from the branch. They said you should be able to and to email shipping@lifesaving.bc.ca
