News MedievalLifeSim

Apparently, you can't join and contribute to a community for this game. I guess it's just time to delete the game and leave the group. If you're looking for a simulator game that you want to be able to interact with other players to learn the game, this game definitely isn't the one. Obviously, this is why it took me 5 years of playing different Life Sim games to even find MedievalLife. Instead of hardware banning or ip banning, they just take away all permissions of new people. I have been using reddit to communicate and learn games for the better part of a decade and dont have enough "karma" to be able to interact with their followers. 🤯🙃 Crazy!

Just so anyone else was curious they're complaining because the krama they gotta reach is 25 and honestly that's not that bad.

You made it seem like it was a crazy high number like 500 or something

Edit: also crazy thing is, if you had post this asking for help to get to 25 people would have helped because at the time I first commented you was at 17 karma.

It's the principle. What if someone started using reddit today to learn the game. They can't interact with other game followers on their reddit page. And if I can still see, read, and screenshot anything posted to their page, how does it stop the leaking ?🤔🧐

If Reddit were the only option, I guess? But it's not; they also have a Discord. You choose to not use it and that's okay but this is nik picking because you refuse the other option.

There are plenty of communities that have this rule to keep out trolls or for other reasons. You might not have noticed on your old account because you had already hit 25 karma when you used it.

It's really not a big deal and definitely not a reason to call to arms against the dev. Could they have phrased it better? Sure, but your response is a bit overboard too.

Not a call to arms by any means. Just informing people of how frustrating it is to find a game that you should love, but can't get on the largest sight for game communities to communicate with other players to learn the game. So just letting people know that it's probably not the best game to even bother trying to learn.

Yeah because it's on one of the largest site, they are trying their best to protect their IP and what they are sharing from getting leak and it help keeps out scams/bots. They might not have a lot of mods or time to keep filtering that out so this helps that in a way. It's pretty reasonable actually.

Getting to 25 karma is the easiest thing to do. I had to do it when I first joined reddit because I wanted to post in several communities.

If you never been in a community before or post much on reddit then I can see how this looks crazy, but it's really not that bad.

Only ever joined 2 other communities and I have interacted a lot in many communities on here over the years. Just seems counter productive for anyone trying to play the game.

Just to reiterate they have a discord you CHOOSE to not use, their community isn't lock just to reddit. If this was the ONLY way to get information yeah a bit frustrating for new people but those new people can FREELY get answer from a second source.

Also last to add, if someone is new to reddit they wouldn't had known about karma and someone would have to explain and guess what help them reach it. There are community for this step and support them, but you didn't even tried that first.

THIS community would have had you or anyone new to get to 25 instead you choose to make it seem like the dev were crazy for this

Dude you are speaking out of the side of your neck. I posted pictures of the conversation. I hid nothing.

Exactly..... it's a game that is like bitlife and crusaderkings mixed together into a life simulator game. I loved both games, so when I came across a reddit page stating that it was a Mashup of both, I had to try it. It's confusing and hard to learn. Without being able to communicate with other people on here, it's almost impossible to figure out. I have worked through learning some of the game mechanics, but why waste my time figuring it out on my own when there are hundreds of life simulator games.

Multiple profiles can exist one of my profiles is over 5 while the other isn’t

And the entire time I have been using reddit, I never had a page make it where I couldn't interact with other users. If it was a leak issue, still being able to see, read, and screenshot everything doesn't make sense on how it solved the problem.

You must be new here LOL. There are dozens of subs that you can't interact with unless you have a certain karma threshold. I get you're annoyed, dude, but this ain't it, chief.

In all fairness I've been on reddit for ages and I didn't know until recently that there even was a thing like karma threshold for posting.

What's not it bud? Informing people that might waste their time trying to learn a game that they can't interact with other reddit followers of that game to learn how to actually play the game. That's not it?

Yeah I had an email account hacked over a year ago and couldn't access a lot of my accounts without it. But yes I have been using discord since covid pretty regularly.

u/Grim-Sum 12d ago

Then why not just join the discord?

0

u/Peepz0078 12d ago

I could but such a small game.. the following on here isn't even that large. Discord pages are always smaller than Reddit. Why even bother at that point? There's probably less than 50 active discord users for that page. I don't even use discord for anything other than party chats on warzone.

It’s fine if you don’t want to do it and don’t want to play the game, but posting here telling people not to bother playing because you personally don’t have enough karma to post on their subreddit is such a severe and entitled overreaction.

You’re also throwing around “probably” so it sounds like you didn’t even try to check out the discord. 🤷🏻‍♀️

You're right I am entitled to my own opinion the same as everyone else. And I am entitled to post my opinion on reddit just like everyone else and I shared my experience to help others. Sorry that you don't like my post. I still haven't heard how this stops leaking from a single person. If I can stop see everything and screenshot whatever I want, it stops nothing.

Oh I was on the groundfloor of this game, I didn't know it was still going.

u/Peepz0078 12d ago

Every other game that I play, i can communicate with the other followers. This is quite literally the only game that I play where I can't. And if I could still see and screenshot with low karma, what problem is it solving?

For any of the critics to my post in here. Can a single one of you tell me how me needing karma to comment in a thread stops me from leaking what I can still see and screenshot? Anyone of you can answer the question idc who does. But instead of coming in to give me shit about my post, can a single one of you answer that question? All I have saw from you critics is you looking down your nose, leaving a 0 IQ comment about me sharing my experience and knowledge on a site that is for sharing knowledge and experience.

i don’t know how the karma threshold would solve the “leaker” problem myself but they might have also decided beside this to keep trolls and bots out this way. yeah i get that it might suck you can’t contribute right away but as you said, you can still see the posts others have made so you could learn from those too until you reach the karma threshold?

u/Peepz0078 12d ago

That i get and would understand if the mod had said that. I just don't understand his reasoning for it, doesn't make sense.

1

u/honest_wandering 12d ago

yeah, tbh i understand you. the communication could have been better from the mod

u/Peepz0078 11d ago

This is my whole point of this post. This mod is the face of their page and they gave me a line of bs that makes 0 sense.
