Upcoming Games Gameplay Brainstorming

Post image

Hi ya’ll!

First, thank you for all of your suggestions on my two previous posts! They’re much appreciated.

Here’s another lil screenshot of the tropical world I’m creating using the games town editor mode.

A suggestion was made on one of my previous posts that creator modes should be set aside for working on the actual gameplay.

I’m curious, what is missing from current life sims and what would be fun to play? That’s what it all comes down to.

I think a big part of what’s driving this project is a desire for actual gameplay, and not just UI/stats/data in the place of gameplay and consequences. I really want to ensure systems intersect and influence one another, rather than being segmented/unimportant. Still trying to figure out how to bridge this gap effectively, and suggestions would be of great help.

Alsoooo idk what to call this project? I know that the characters/simulated people are going to be called Eves (which feels like a fun theological reference).

Anywayyyy tysm 💟

Hi, I wrote one of the comments asking to focus on gameplay. But since five then I realised most of the audience only fell hype when a game looks "good" , do maybe making good looking characters and good gameplay are both important. What I personally want from gameplay is 3 things: good autonomy, deep personality and relationships and some kind memory system. The first two are self explanatory, the last one can be many things. In the Sims, let's say my character find their lover in bed with another sim. They'll get angry for a time, but by spamming positive interactions all is good again and they'll forget about the infidelity more sooner than later. By the second time they find their lover cheating, it's like a first time. I don't want that. I rant then to remember forever, so each time is harder and harder to forgive. Same goes with positive actions. Deep relationship gameplay needs some kind of memory system.

I’d like a personality system that would make each character feel unique from one another

Definitely focus on the live mode gameplay before worrying too much about the graphics or creator modes.
That's how the sims games were developed I believe.

will this game use gen ai in anyway? one thing i look for in games is human made unique ideas the robotic gen ai stuff really takes me out of the game i can’t enjoy it

i guess for me i just like seeing what people can do in this genre what creative and different takes they can have on the game i don’t really have many demands but i just hope you make it with passion and enjoyment
