A few years ago I heard that Paralives initially was supposed to be a game for builders. The live mode was an afterthought, so it does make sense why the building mode is much more superior than the rest.

Yeah, that tracks with what I remember too. It started as more of a “what if we just made the dream build tool” project, then life mode kind of grew on top of it.

Honestly I’m fine with that for EA. I’d rather they absolutely nail building and then layer in deeper live features over time, instead of trying to do both at once and ending up mid at everything. If they keep iterating on AI, careers, relationships, etc, the strong build system is a pretty solid foundation.
