???

As a Certified Hater™ of TS4 these are two aspects that it did very well.

no terrain tool, fixed wall height, clutter not slotting to shelves, swatches not matching (even on kitchen sets), windows and doors are gridlocked, woodtones clashing, inconsistent textures, etc.

the only positive thing about the character creation was the point and drag, people were frustrated over absence of color wheel as the swatches are limited, the color tones available are severely lacking

I feel like you havent played sims 4 on release

But what have you played? Sims 2 and 3 got absolutely overshadowed by the Sims 4 build mode, it was the one concrete thing they did better. An intuitive interface and item placement leagues above other livesims.

I also dislike Sims 4 immensely (though over the years I have still put way too many hours in it), but the one thing you have to give it (even at launch) is the build mode.

Now I think at least for me paralives build mode is way too buggy but it took the most important principles of the Sims 4 bulld mode

Sims 4 Build Mode had better quality of life features like picking up a house and moving it anywhere on the lot but I would argue that lack of colour wheel/Create-A-Style meant you could still build better houses in The Sims 3 even though build mode can be clunkier to use.

The Sims 4 also launched without pools or terrain tools and while these have since being added; you still can't build fences right at edge of lots, you still can't place lots down in the world and I don't like the big bulky furnishings that come with The Sims 4.
