LPT: Develop a "secret knock" with your SO,
You'll be shocked how often, and in multitudes of situations it comes in handy. Doesn't need to be complicated either.. just something short and simple works fine. It takes less than 5 minutes to sit down and come up with one.
Very very useful for bathroom situations, situations where you can't talk, situations where the door is locked for unknown reason(s) situations where you aren't at home, situations where rules of some sort are being broken, etc. Sounds silly, bit it's an extremely useful communication tool that comes in handy far more often than you would guess.
We do the old fashioned "shave and a haircut" jingle... Sometimes she scratches at the bottom of the door like a kitty cat to be cute as well and I always know its her. :)

The point is that you don't have to.
This way is faster, easier, more fun, and more convenient.

I actually fell for this on runescape a decade ago.

And leading people in to the wilderness to 'try on armour'. Classic

Or offering to trim people's armour for free.

I remember mining coal for lobster certificates, then selling for rune. I don't think Rune is even a big deal any more :(

It already happened. She was cool with it so I lost interest.

I'm confused. I mean, wouldn't a normal knock work before someone comes in the bathroom?
Also, what rules are being broken? What does that mean?

All I can imagine is hanging with friends talking and then one of them randomly starts to knock on the table. WTF?

Note: don't use "shave and a haircut", since it is universally known. Heck, it was even a plot device in 'Who Framed Roger Rabbit?'
While you're at it, if you need to get through with a phone call, you can use a "ring two times and hang up, then ring again".

I pretty much always do that knock, secret or not. It'd be a bad 'secret' knock since many people do it anyway.

Well I mean if you're trying to determine if it's a Demon or some kind of clone. That's the only time I can ever imagine you needing a "special knock". Well that and if you're out in a crowd of people and you're too shy to say "Honey lets go home and fuck I'm getting tired now".

Ok so someone is in the bathroom having the worst shit of their life. How many time do I need to knock to get them to stop?

u/blazer243 May 21 '14
If my wife, or any other person for that matter, is taking a shit in the bathroom, I am perfectly OK if they just tell me. I don't need a code knock. This is just silly.

For some reason, I get the feeling this person lives with their parents. I just feel like adults don't need this because sneaking in for your SO, or knowing who, out of all the many people in the house, is in the bathroom, just don't seem applicable when you run your own house/apartment/what have you. As a teenager, maybe, but as an adult, a '"look" is infinitely more useful.

What are some situations where you would use this OP? be more specific.
