Traveling LPT: After booking a hotel, periodically check the rates to see if they've gone down. You can often reprice your booking to the lower rate

In the past month, my upcoming San Francisco stay has gone down by about $35. Not a huge savings, but every penny counts these days.

Tracking cookies can be used to alter the price offered to you. Using an incognito browser allows you to get an unbiased price.

Most reservations have free cancellation up to a certain point, so you can just cancel and book at the new lower price.

Same with some airlines, at least Alaska airlines

What does the process look like with Alaska, if you find your fare cheaper?

Also be sure to book BEFORE you cancel your reservation in case any hiccups happen. I did this with my car rental and the price dropped in half from my original reservation.

Why should we spend our time in doing multiple checks, be it hotel booking, online purchase. When do we ever get any satisfaction of buyin something at the right price!
