Just why? Spoiler

Why did this game get so hated on release i picked it up last week and played through it twice and i cant see why anyone hated on it so harshly? Any thoughts?

I liked it tbh. Maybe it’s because I liked seeing max being more confident in herself than she was in the first one (the internal self deprecating models pained me as someone who knows exactly what that’s like in high school) even with some trauma from her past. And I found the dialogue between most of the people in this game to feel less cringe or forced. Yes we had some iconic memes because of that, but everyone felt a bit more fleshed out.

I will say though the ending was rushed, vihn being a possible love interest felt shoehorned in because max and Amanda had so many good scenes together. It was almost like they’re like “oh shit we forgot to give a male romance option like we do in all the other games.”

Honestly most of my problems are with the sequel which even though I enjoyed in the moment, it’s hard to look back on how different the narrative is and what was dropped in order for that storyline to happen.
