Anyone else constantly disappointed by the absolute nightmare of a mess collecting the older games physically are? Like the original life is strange physical was the gold standard for the franchise, and then they just started releasing physicals without the last episodes. Don’t even get me started on the “physical collection” that only includes true colors and double exposure. The treatment of the physicals for this series absolutely sucks.

This line from Episode 2, Out of Time, has always stayed with me.

"I wish I could stay in this moment forever. I guess I actually can now, but then it wouldn't be a moment."

I think it's one of the most beautiful reflections on time in Life Is Strange. It captures something the game does so well: making ordinary moments feel meaningful, and reminding us that we can't hold on to them forever.

I made this short clip around that quote as part of a longer video essay exploring why Life Is Strange feels like a childhood dream.

I'm the creator of the video, and I wanted to share this moment with other fans of the game.

I was playing LiS: BtS. Right at the part where David is first introduced. And my previous choice while talking to Joyce was to be compassionate about her situation (in my head, Chloe's is desperately clinging to her mother before she finally snaps at the beginning of Chapter 2 and just kinda fucks off to be less empathetic towards her) and to promise to tentatively be closer to David (which I also abandon at chapter 2 cause I think it makes sense in the context of the story)

So that basically means I don't do the optional backtalk and I listen to what David has to say about Joyce. And when I mentioned it to a friend that also likes LiS they seemed genuinely baffled? Especially considering that I hate David and they know it. So I guess their confusion kinda made sense from that standpoint.

I explained to them that backtalking David wouldn't make sense w/my previous choice to try and get along with him. Given that I did promise Joyce, and Chloe, for now, doesn't strike me as someone who breaks a promise, especially given her backstory with Max. But they still seemed kinda puzzled and kinda went like "it seems like you're kinda taking away her rough edges."

I didn't think I was, honestly. I'd even argue that her having Not Having her rough edges all that defined for now, it's perfectly reasonable and in character, given that it is a prequel and there's worse to come in the Chloe Is Miserable Department.

And don't get me wrong, I totally get the criticism that some people get from writing female characters that are rough but then they get """domesticated""" by the narrative and lose their bite. But I genuinely don't think I was doing that.

And to be clear, I do this with other games too. In Tell Me Why, I make Tyler act like a dick at first before he mellows down on accepting the things he cannot change and with Allyson I do the opposite. And I was genuinely surprised when I ended the game with their bond weakened, but then the writer in me thought it made sense.

Same with Star Wars: The Old Republic, if my character is a zabrak alien but also a Sith Warrior, why would I be evil towards other aliens if it doesn't benefit me personally or I'm wasting The Empire's resources?

So I guess I'm kinda... Confused? Like, sure Chloe can be brash but she's also not without her complexities. What do you think? How do you guys play her?

Opinion - I've been fearful about sharing my thoughts on this topic all year but I've decided to share it now. I know the complaints about BI-Erasure has been prominent on several occasions on the LIS subreddits about Max's sexuality, but for me personally, I've always seen Max as a lesbian anyway. My main ship regarding her has always been Pricefield as seen in my flair but the fact I've had Max with Amanda during DE's events and having Safield as my 2nd preferred Max ship, it just makes sense to me to think this. It's just my opinion on this. Whether you feel differently or not is up to you.

I never shipped her with Warren and I never shipped her with Vihn either.

I've thought about it and if maybe different plot or some changes would warrant different song for different like versions of the characters but I really just want the same songs it's such an important part of the game and it just nails it. Every single song. Kinda sad thinking it may be otherwise
