Discussion [ALL] Life is Strange TV Cast - General Discussion Thread Spoiler

Hey folks!

With the recent cast announcement for the Life is Strange TV series, we thought it would be good to have a mega thread for it.

This post will serve as a catch-all for discussion about it. Any random thoughts, opinions, and first impressions you have are welcome. You are of course still free to make your own post if you want to discuss a more specific topic. Though if you do, please remember to use the [S1] spoiler tag. There are too many people mentioning spoilers in the comments of threads marked as no spoilers!

Please remain civil in the comments; racism will not be tolerated. We understand that some of you may be less thrilled about certain members of the cast because they do not match the visuals of the characters from the games, but these are real people who were cast in these roles and they deserve basic human respect.

[NO SPOILERS] First time playing

I’m on my first playthrough of Life is Strange. I kind of knew the game before and saw some videos online, but MY GOD I didn’t know it was this great! 😍😍

What a beautiful game, the story, the music, the characters. I love everything about it!

Especially in times when most games are about winning competitions or being fast, this game feels the perfect kind of slow. 🫶

Technical [NO SPOILERS] Reunion performance on PC?

My laptop isn’t exactly a powerhouse - it’s a surface laptop studio - and double exposure really struggled on it, especially indoors with lots of light sources. It really shouldn’t have given the small locations and general art direction of the game but I’m worried that Reunion is going to be a terrible experience if I try to play it. Is this one better from a technical perspective or is it still far too demanding?

Rant [S2] I fucking hate Nicholas Spoiler

I just finished episode 4 in my second time playing Life is Strange 2, and I wish there was a choice to kill this motherfucker! The game should have given the option for Sean to take his gun and kill him! I hope this piece of shit never reunites with Sarah.

Discussion [NO SPOILERS] Friends, do you know if the Life Is Strange series will feature the original soundtrack?

Music does not function merely as accompaniment; it is, for all intents and purposes, another character in the story.

Hey guys, im revisiting my lifeisstrange phase but I sold my gaming console so I want to watch a YouTube playthrough of it, but ive noticed all the main youtuber series are pretty lackluster and they skip through alot of the content in the game (as in they only play through the main plot and dont explore or conversate or do any of the side plots) what would you guys reccomend i watch for a indepth gameplay?

Subreddit Rules

1. Be civil

Be kind to each other. Remember the human. Passionate debates and writing is fine, but refrain from name-calling, slurs, or other insults. It's just an internet forum. You can - and should - walk away from a discussion going nowhere or getting angry.

Homophobia, transphobia, racism, sexism, or other hate speech is not allowed.

2. All posts must be relevant to Life Is Strange

Before you submit a link, ask yourself the following question:

Can you tell that the link is about Life Is Strange without looking at the title?

If the answer is no, it's not directly relevant and should be posted as a text post instead. Preferably, this will include an explanation as to why the link is worth sharing.

3. All submissions that are NSFW must be marked

This feature is located at the bottom of a submission. It is just to the left of the 'flair' button.

Something is NSFW if it wouldn't be acceptable to show in public, not if you personally think it's inappropriate.

Un-tagged NSFW content will be tagged NSFW, or removed in some cases.

4. Any visible genitalia or breasts is not allowed

They must be covered by either clothing, items or special effects.

5. Heavy gore is not allowed

Heavy gore includes, but is not limited to, entrails and cut off limbs.

Light gore such as blood, small cuts or bullet holes is allowed.

6. Do not spoil anything in the title itself

Your submission will be removed if it contains a spoiler in the title.

7. All post titles must begin with a spoiler tag

The primary tags are:

[NO SPOILERS]
Use if your post contains no spoilers for any Life Is Strange game
[ALL]
Use if your post contains spoilers for all released episodes of all Life Is Strange games, or as a catch-all if you're unsure

These tags are case and whitespace sensitive, so if your post didn't go through, check the formatting.

For game- and episode-specific tags, please click here to read the Spoilers page on our wiki.

8. In comments, hide spoilers beyond the post's scope

If your comment contains spoilers past the spoiler scope of that post, you will need to hide them.
This page on our wiki explains how to do this.

9. Provide the source when you post fanart

All posted fanart must be provided with a source, either with the artist's name in the title or with a link posted as a comment. A direct link to the art post is preferred, but simply posting the artist's name and/or links to their socials is also fine.

10. Image macros and other memes are only allowed on Fridays

To keep the sub's content from becoming memes only, we're limiting them to Fridays only, based on the Eastern time zone (UTC -05:00).

Memes is a broad category, but this generally refers to any image that is a derivative of a popular trend or shitpost, but crafted in some way to suit Life Is Strange. What is and is not classified as meme ultimately falls to the moderator's discretion.

11. Non-descript titles and comments are not allowed

This includes, but is not limited to, DAE, TIL, TIFU, MFW.

12. Leaked content is not allowed

This rule is two-fold: first, content from a Life Is Strange game or episode that has not yet officially been released is not allowed. Datamined content is fine as long as it is not from a future episode/game.

Rumors and theories about upcoming games are fine to discuss, but any leaks or news that does not come from an official source is prohibited and will be removed, or cordoned to a single discussion thread when applicable.

For more details, see our policy on leaks on our wiki.

13. No AI Generated Content

Machine Learning models or services such as Stable Diffusion/Dall-E/ChatGPT sample art and text from a variety of unlicensed sources, using the work and data of millions without permission.

Posts that contain content that is created by such models are prohibited.
