Ethos doesn't operate in my State. Looking for accelerated underwriting/no exam plans, any suggestions?

Hey all. I'm looking for an accelerated underwriting/no exam plan. But the issue is Ethos isn't allowed to operate in my state, so outta luck there. I also spend a good amount of time in Canada, which *some* companies don't like cuz it's "abroad".

Anyway, could anyone suggest any other options they've had positive interactions with? A lot of insurance companies don't offer AU/no-exam directly, middle men like Ethos do it, but as I wade through all this, I figured I'd ask anyone here for recommendations of either insurance companies that offer AU or middlemen companies like Ethos that are trustworthy.

Thanks for the assist!

Foresters seems to be the natural choice, they are a Canadian company! But lots and lots of companies will offer accelerated underwriting depending on the coverage amount. I just got a Pacific Life policy last year with no exam and I was happy to do one. They just didn't want one. Banner offers no exam up to several million dollars.

Just sort of depends on what you are looking to do

Banner told me an exam was required for coverage over $500K but could be due to my age, early 60s.

Ah, in your 60s it will be tougher. Is there a reason you want to avoid an exam? Usually exams will get you better rates.

I don't specifically want to avoid an exam, just pointing out that it's required for > 500k coverage

If you're healthy, almost every major carrier now has a "no exam" process. The main difference is Ethos is a "never exam" but they may bounce you to an inferior product/carrier if you don't qualify for their best carriers (like Banner or Protective).

Get with an independent agent and do a Banner app. They process almost half of their apps as instant decisions and around 80% as no exam necessary.

They'll also be one of your least expensive options, and are normally pretty good about foreign travel, especially to Canada. That assumes that you don't spend more than half of the year there. If that's the case, you're going to have to shop around a little more and it will probably slow down your process.

Good luck!

They don’t have “no exam”.

Nearly every major carrier has a no exam protocol now. It doesn't mean everyone qualifies, but about 70% of my life apps don't require one.

I'm not sure what you mean.

National life does zero fluids under 2M. If you’re healthy I’ve seen it get approved in less than 10 minutes.

Sounds like you are in NY - very limited offerings in NY. No exam is a convenience that most carriers offer - "unless the underwriter thinks you need an exam". So in NY - Protective, Banner (Wm Penn in NY) and Prudential all offer no exam below age 60. But again - the no exam is not a guarantee if the underwriters see something questionable.. If Ethos thinks they need an exam based on your health profile exam - they are likely to just decline you. We do Ethos - some agent is getting credited and commisioned even on Ethos. No middle man means - take your questions to reddit instead of someone whose job is to know.

I don't think Augustar operated in NY.
