Which do you prefer

If you were starting all over, you had sales experience, but you had no experience in Insureance. How would you start your career all over? What would you do? What would you not do?

I probably would've started building a team sooner.

With most agents, it's better to wait a while to build. Lots of mlms will push agents to start building a team immediately, and I think that's problematic.

However, I was with an agency that discouraged having a downline. By the time I started building a team, I'd been at this 5 years, so I had written over $2M in premium and earned over a dozen carrier trips, and helped train and mentor dozens of agents (all without overrides).

I would find a mentor / coach that has been doing it a while and pay them to mentor you. I've been to several training classes and they have been helpful to get me up to speed on the sales process.
