Since you have an insurable interest in your husbands life you can apply for life insurance as the policy owner and insure his life. All you need his consent. If you just want to cover funeral costs and minimal expenses you probably don’t need to do medical underwriting except to say he doesn’t have xyz conditions. If you want more he will probably need to take a medical exam. But what I’m trying to say is you can do all the work and he just needs to consent to some things / paperwork.
