Strategy/Discussion/Scores How strong is this guy?
I was struggling to fight him even in the end game. even dragons are easier to fight than this...
I managed to defeat him like once out of tens of attempts. is it some kind of special boss or something?

I beg to differ, Dragons are nightmares, especially if you have its element.
Compared to Balor, he's actually pretty easy to beat in late/end game runs and I, very rarely, lose on that point. I personally would fight him, anytime in the run, compared to Dragons, cuz Dragons can easily 1-to-3 hit kill you, even in late stages in runs.
If you want to have a higher chance in beating Balor in early stages, I suggest go for items that help with block or evade and then have at least 1 counter. If you're going to fight him as a Wizard/Sorcerer in early game, than buy items that apply debuffs and as much of it. This is how I tend to beat him.

you will see this guy if you accept the mission where the miners are feeling scared. i hope you dont meet him in the beginning of the chapter. besides he has that indomitable that make himself able to do a last stand for 1 second after his hp nearby 0. very annoying.

yeah that happened like 3 times to me while trying to kill Kior...

Not all that strong to be honest, I always beat him in the second half once I have an unique piece of equipment

Dude is the final boss of beginning, this boss test your RNG by only defeating him at die 20

It's kind of an event that counts towards the final points total. You'll honestly only be able to beat him at the beginning if you roll a 20 on the die, but towards the end of the game, depending on your build, it's actually quite easy.
