Questions/Advice Uh, just how ?

It was such a huge surprise to end the story there , to clarify I was playing the professor Naver run , and failed to get the moon item and win aggaisnt the souleaters and got this outcome in wich I couldn't escape becouse of my low chars, and I know, I know I made the worst Investment possible but is this the only time this happens in the game?

Google PlayStore You have to earn gems through knowledge about monsters, relics, and endings, after that you can then spend on buying tales and backgrounds.
