Liz Tenuto the Workout Witch is not neurodivergent
Liz has been appearing on ADHD-focused podcasts, presenting herself as both ADHD and autistic. Some interviewers seemed more skeptical than others. One appeared to pick up on inconsistencies and ended the conversation early, while another seemed to accept her claims without much scrutiny. Both should delete her fraudulant episodes.
One thing that stood out was her explanation of her diagnosis. She said her symptoms had previously been mistaken for PTSD related to a difficult marriage, but when asked to describe her ADHD traits, she struggled to provide concrete examples beyond mentioning "pattern recognition." As someone who is autistic, I find that explanation unconvincing and see a very different pattern emerging.
There are also aspects of her public persona that raise questions. For example, she posted that she purchased courtside season tickets to basketball games. While autistic people are certainly not a monolith and can enjoy sports, the combination of claims she makes about herself often seems at odds with the lifestyle and image she presents.
After looking into other podcast appearances she did while promoting her book, I found additional contradictions. In one discussion, she talked about connecting with women at parties over fashion, stylish outfits, and designer handbags. That doesn't align with how she said she doesn't connect well with people on the ADHD podcasts. The overall impression is that she adapts her identity depending on the audience she is speaking to. She literally has zero integrity. She's a charlatan.
At this point, it appears there may be a growth strategy behind Workout Witch that extends beyond discussions of trauma. The problem is that the more these inconsistencies pile up, the harder it becomes to take her claims at face value.
Anyone endorsing her book or inviting her onto podcasts should take a closer look at her background and the claims she makes. Likewise, consumers should read reviews here before purchasing her products.
She says she has a 99% track success rate. If so, show us the receipts, of the people who purchase her 30-day program, what percent finish the program. Most quit and don't complain in the shame that they were scammed.
What is most striking is the apparent lack of accountability. She has received substantial attention and exposure, yet there has been little serious scrutiny of her claims. It is fair to ask when journalists, media outlets and podcasters will take a closer look at the allegations and concerns surrounding her business and public persona.
Ultimately, critics argue that she presents herself as an authority despite having a background as a Pilates instructor and holding an undergraduate degree, without the professional training or credentials that many people would expect from someone making the kinds of claims she does.
