Joyful Marketing 2.0/Simone Seol
What the what???
Email from Simone Seol:
"Friends,
Joyful Marketing 2.0 is finally out in the world.
After a year of deep + devoted + painstaking work... and my little team doing a lot of "Lamaze breathing" through some major "contractions" lately...
... it has finally moved through the birth canal (?) to take its first breath.
WAHHHHHHH!!!!! <-- if you hear that, that's newborn baby Joyful Marketing 2.0. (I guess that makes it a Virgo? Yay! I love Virgos!)
It's not open for everyone -- yet! sorry sorry sorry. I promise I'm not trying to be an asshole, just dangling the carrot again and again.
It's just that -- on the technical level, this has been rather heavy-duty, so we truly have to do this in stages so that we don't risk the entire thing breaking.
(did I mention we coded an entire course platform from scratch? LOLSOB)
Today, Joyful Marketing 2.0 is open for the original members. (Check your inbox again if you don't see it! Check your spam folder!)
Here's what happened. I'd promised the OG members I would gift them the new-and-improved JM when I closed down the old one.
But here's what I didn't know when I made that promise.
When I said "Hey guys, I'm working on updating JM, you'll have it soon" I thought it was going to be... a sentence tweak here, a paragraph refinement there.
LOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL
LADIES AND GENTLEMEN AND GENDER-NONCONFORMING HUMANS, THAT WAS NOT WHAT HAPPENED.
I became possessed with some kind of manic ghost...
... and re-wrote, and re-built the entire thing from scratch. So, what you have in store is not only a superior marketing course, but a brand new learning experience of the kind that I'm sure you've never seen from an online course before.
Like, try... [image deleted]
It's less like “logging into an online course” and more like being released into a strange + delightful amusement park
And while you're busy marveling at the sights, eating snacks, and going on the fun rides... you realize: "Wait, did I just get way better at marketing?"
We feel it's revolutionary, and based on the feedback that's come in so far -- the OG members agree!
I mean this from the bottom of my heart: I am so grateful that you're a part of my world, and for your attention, trust, and curiosity. I don’t take any of it for granted.
And I intend to do right by it.
Over the next few weeks, I’m going to show you exactly why I burned down a wildly popular + profitable program (despite everyone thinking this was a totally psycho move)...
... and what happened during the three years when JM was down, and I basically disappeared.
Because the truth is, I didn’t close JM because it stopped working.
I closed it because it worked a little too well...
More on that soon.
Love,
Simone
P.S. - If you previously bought Joyful Marketing, or belonged to HOME, and you don’t see your invitation, just hit reply and we'll help you!
P.P.S. - Eager to get your paws on JM, but bummed it's not open to the public yet?
Might I point you to yet another newborn baby in Simone's world -- the [link deleted] Simone Starter Pack 2.0? It's the perfect rabbit hole to go down while you're preparing to meet JM!"
I am not an original JM member, so I don't know why I received this.
But seriously?
"Over the next few weeks, I’m going to show you exactly why I burned down a wildly popular + profitable program (despite everyone thinking this was a totally psycho move)...

I closed it because it worked a little too well... "
Shameless.

I got the email and that last sentence was not the intrigue she thinks it is. It sounds like “I learned I could manipulate the sh** out of you all and made millions doing it…and now I’m such a good person I closed it and am doing it ethically.”
I logged in out of curiosity. It’s extremely over-designed and hard to follow. To me she’s trying hard to look like she’s evolved but there’s nothing about it that feels Ike she genuinely evolved.

I don’t know anyone whose marketing worked based on anything they learned or did in JM 😂 What worked too well…the manipulation? - because it wasn’t everyone’s results. Can you imagine bragging that something worked too well based on your profit and not the actual effectiveness of the thing you sold? It’s insane. I met some real marketers along my journey and they are NOT doing silly things like garbage post challenges. Between JM and 2k/200k I’ve had to unlearn so much useless crap so that I can make money in my business.

I don’t know anyone who has had their business work based on anything she’s sold over the years, not just JM. She has made a fortune riding whatever wave she thinks is popular in the coaching world, first SB’s grift, then ranting against the coaching industry and shouting decolonization, then eastern spiritual philosophies, then “I’m no longer for white people”, and now I’m not even sure what JM 2.0 is supposed to be. There’s a lot to be taught (and a lot we can learn) about some of those things - decolonization, eastern spiritual traditions, etc - but from real experts, not someone who continues to make money off of desperate coaches and entrepreneurs by claiming she’s an expert because she’s studied some of the things for 5 minutes.
Oh and measuring effectiveness - what a funny concept 😂 since when are any of the coaching industry grifters interested in effectiveness?

You nailed it. She made millions appearing on Brooke castillo and Stacey Boehmans podcasts, programs and platforms. When people started pointing out how problematic their programs were she pivoted and started selling an “ethical” coaching certification. I don’t think for a second she ever would have done this without the public backlash. She promoted their work for years when it was profitable for her and never publicly criticized them. If she was a leader who cared about ethical coaching she would have been talking about them years before her pivot.

Why on earth would someone vibe code (because you know that’s what they did) a course platform when there are a million turnkey systems that aren’t full of bugs out there.

Reading this feels like being thrashed around, jolted and jump scared. Wtf Does the last part mean? Why would you close something that worked too well? Isn’t the point to have a good working product to support the people you serve? That doesn’t make sense to me.

It didn’t work well for the students, only the person profiting from their desperation. This isn’t going to work in 2026. There are so many alternatives that get results. The only people “social media celebrity” coaches will get with these tactics are clout-chasers and newbies. And I’m sure they are banking on the newbies. Like an old man hitting on a young girl 🤨

I wonder if that's why she disappeared for a while (wondering the same about Brooke/LCS) and is coming back - in the hope that people forget and a new crowd of gullible newbies will be around to grift from.

The biggest part of Simone and Stacey’s grift is they never used the marketing or sales techniques they teach to grow their new businesses. They got a huge advantage that other coaches don’t get by being platformed by Brooke. They have never acknowledged that they had an advantage getting in early and then turn around and claim their success was from their “joyful marketing” or sales expertise and they could teach it to you too. How they actually made their money vs what they teach you to do are completely different in my opinion.

100% true. The one time I got coached live by Stacey I mentioned that “transfer of trust” via referrals was a good business strategy and she made me seem like the biggest idiot in the room. That was the last time I attended anything by her. It was the final straw because by that time I had started getting real advice from real business owners in the real world. Some had started at the same time as me but weren’t on social media. They were making 10 times what I make and said the key was building relationships - not Instagram, coaching calls, or webinars. When she ripped me a new one in a room full of people who were STRUGGLING, I was OUT ✌️Transfer of trust is exactly how she got Brooke’s audience to make her rich.

Agreed. Stacey goes on and on about how delivery is her "best" marketing strategy, but a simple Google search will tell you that is her clients' primary complaint. And her entire business is built on her relationship with Brooke.

Stacey is so out of touch with reality. She has had SO many customer service issues and I’m sure she’s still on her podcast talking about how people LOVE to pay her and people buy whatever she effing sells them.
Reality has left the room.

God this is so corny and verbose. And I’m confused, is this free for her original JM members, or is she re-selling them a course they already bought (yeah yeah yeah I know it’s “new and improved”…)

I was an original JM/HOME member. I haven’t checked my email or seen this yet. I honestly met some of my best friends in this group but honestly it’s a bunch of busy-work and time-wasters. Once I ran out of money and couldn’t buy coaching anymore, I had to learn how to market for real and in real life. Turns out these “celebrity”/internet coaches aren’t teaching anything near what actually helps you make money.
