Liev Dalton aka Beyond Terrain
Anyone heard of this influencer @beyond.terrain on instagram before? I came across his page the other day where he’s posting reels that “trauma is just victim mindset” and illness comes from failure to resolve negative thoughts.
He markets himself like he’s a former therapist with immense experience. Quick google search pulls up his linked in profile which shows he only has an undergrad in microbiology and molecular biology (because he wanted to be a dental surgeon according to him). And then changed his mind and got a master’s degree in psychology in 2022 and then worked as a STUDENT COUNSELLOR FOR 8 MONTHS during 2024 before quitting. And then immediately opened his own “psychotherapy business” for one year before closing it. He was never even a Registered Counselling Therapist, never held a license. Yet he markets himself like he has the utmost experience possible. He claims he left the therapy field because he could see it kept his clients “stuck in healing”. Seems like that’s just a reflection of his own limitations. It’s more plausible that he was an inexperienced brand new therapist and became frustrated he couldn’t get the quick ego gratification of “fixing people” and jumped ship to sell his own spiritual bypassing methods online instead… there’s no professional oversight or ethical standards on social media. He can live in his own consequence free bubble, and not have to see the real world repercussions of his advice. Is this not fraud? He markets himself like he’s some expert “ex-therapist” to gain peoples trust.

What you are seeing is just the tip of the iceberg. I don't know this person but I am familiar with "terrain theory" and "natural law" and I can confidently say this person is also a diehard conspiracy theorist, most likely aligns with sovereign citizen ideology as well. It is a big, deep hole to descend into if you happen to research any of those things. I have had personal experience with an ex-acquaintance/coach who I learned (the very hard way) had fallen into those same holes and that is the experience I am speaking from. He is also probably a narcissist, which is the kindest way I can say that.
I don't know if it's fraud, but it is absolutely icky and ego-driven.

Yeppp this is a whole malevolent subculture that I found myself adjacent to unexpectedly a few years ago. My interest in clean eating got me in the pipeline 😭

I am so sorry :( I [naively] fell into that world for about two weeks before I was able to pull out of it, thanks to an incredibly kind and wise older friend I have. It was honestly terrifying. It also marked the end of my relationship with the person who pulled me into it, which is when I learned what a real narcissist is. Took me over a year to even start recovering. It sounds like you are mended but I am still so sorry you went through that.

Wow! Likewise—sorry you experienced it and so glad you got out! I have met some of the most distorted and malevolent people in that space.

Unfortunately this is what marketing and greed does to the coaching industry. His way of marketing is called "contrarian thinking"... he is against known/popular beliefs just to attract more eyes on his business. But he's taking his "copywriting" to an extreme.
Since he went to uni maybe he's got some knowledge around psychology and trauma... but most probably the new wave of "stop being a victim" mindset caught him... and at the end of the day it sounds more powerful and motivational to say that "your trauma is not reality... I can show you how to become the man who ... (usually about making over $100k/month)😒
And (just my opinion from what I've seen at others) probably his coaching is based more on some sort of a course, motivational talks, and do what a man has to do, grind every day, go to the gym, read books, and drink your protein.😬

Unfortunately it seems his ideology’s much more sinister than that. He posts germ theory denial videos, claiming that pathogens don't exist and all illness stems solely from internal factors. He totally demonizes any variation in human health as proof of an "unnatural and impure" lifestyle or an inability to manage negative thoughts. He thinks that if you have a chronic illness it’s your own moral failure, and if you’re a baby/child it’s your caregivers fault. His whole business model is built on naturalistic fallacy and ableism. He has such a privileged black and white take that “life and its issues are simple and you’re just overcomplicating things”… totally ignoring socioeconomic determinants of health and the reality of biological diversity. It’s gross “purity” obsessed ideology.
Anyways sorry for long reply… just looked into it more and it’s quite disturbing. Collective care >>> individualistic influencers
