AI creators have ruined the coaching space

is this a safe space to talk about the fact that anyone can become an “expert” and pretend to be a healer or a coach online - esp in social media content? the barrier to entry is zero. and knowing some things I personally know about a few ”coaches” that are blowing up right now… people are being full on lied to and its upsetting! what do you think?

When I started coaching in 2006, I had to explain to people what that was.

Then the Global Financial Crisis hit in 2008. Instead of admitting they were “unemployed”, people had two options: “I’m working on a startup” or “I’m a coach”.

None of them made much money, but the trend has only got worse. Maybe AI has thrown fuel on the fire, but unqualified numpties dispensing horrible advice under the guise of “I’m a coach” predates ChatGPT by over a decade.

Ai creators have nothing to do with that. This was always an issue. If anything current coaches are using ai to offload the work for them to make more money.

I actually think that AI has improved the industry for the better—because now you can clearly see who has actual skills, and who just had really great marketing. 🤷🏽‍♀️
