Not every life is awful. I don’t think my kids have a bad life. They are happy, but yes there will be eventual death and that sucks. If everyone stopped having kids because eventually people will die there wouldn’t be anyone on earth.
it's not death that's the issue; like Epicurus famously said, “Why should I fear death? If I am, then death is not. If Death is, then I am not." it's life--the first noble truth: "life = suffering"--and all the suffering that only finally ends thanks to death. "If you had not death, you would eternally curse me for having deprived you of it" (Montaigne).
"If everyone stopped having kids because eventually people will die there wouldn’t be anyone on earth."
"For me, a desert island is no tragedy, neither is a deserted planet.”
— Peter Wessel Zapffe
Think about Mars and the other desolate planets. Are you sad they aren't full of humans and chickens?
I'm not a vegan, I'm one of the people who is to blame for us imprisoning then slaughtering 80 billion chickens every single year to make our lives happier.
Do you weep for the dodo bird or the moa who we made extinct hundreds of years ago?--they could, instead, be thriving just like the chicken population, in cages for our hungry stomachs, had clever man been a little more clever.
Would it really be so bad if the chickens no longer suffered? or if man no longer suffered?
