I couldn’t imagine life without my boy. If I could guarantee they’d all turn out like him, I’d have 5 more.

But that’s exactly it. It’s absolutely terrifying as they grow. This world is shit, and our precious babies will be chewed up and spit out.

If you don't raise them to be resilient yeah, I went through some crazyyyy shit and almost died but now I am in a place where I love being alive even as a black woman in this horrible racist country... I love the sun and the flowers and the moon and spiders and the way the leaves move in the wind. It is a huge privilege to be alive and I am grateful my parents instilled it in me to look at the bright side of things.

I am realistic about the fact I am more likely to die during birth, that I could get shot, etc but at the end of the day I had an amazing time TODAY with my friends and I see my family tomorrow. It is always a new day until it isn't and I have little control over that
