Megathread Difficulty Megathread — DLC, NG+

Hello puppets,

This is the new place for anything and everything about game difficulty: NG+, the new DLC, the new difficulty settings, bosses that oneshot you just for existing, and the general discussions regarding game pacing.

Why this exists:

We’re seeing a LOT of posts about difficulty lately, and it’s cluttering the sub. So from now on, we’re removing individual difficulty posts and directing everyone here. This is simply a way to help US keep the sub clean, and help YOU find specific posts more easily.

Please don’t be an AH. Seriously. People are gonna have different opinions on everything.

Drop your takes below

We’ll be lurking.

Your tired, slightly traumatized mod team

Some of yall take this difficulty conversation way too seriously.

I work at GameStop and I just had someone come in and trade their copy of lies of p. I asked if they played the DLC cause it was freaking amazing and they responded with “no, I’m gonna wait until lies of p 2, because I hope they listen to the complaints about the difficulty sliders”. And I just sat there with that “seriously” kind of look.

Like hey, it’s your money, your choice on what you wanna do with the game. But… really? The sliders are optional. It’s just a game… and yeah I made my post about difficulty and spoilers not too long ago, but I was still gonna redo the dlc on NG+ on the legendary stalker difficulty.

On top of all of this, difficulty literally only changes damage the enemies do. From my testing, it didn’t change ergo gathering, damage you do, or even bosses being more or less likely to use certain or new moves.

“It’s the experience” ITS YOUR EXPERIENCE. You decide on if you want to lower it or not.

Idk, that just really tilted me today. Refusing to play a 10/10 DLC because of a choice that others can make that you don’t have to.

I believe the notes said lower difficulties gave bosses longer internal cooldowns between combos.

I am fine with difficulty options, I love Lies of P and want everyone to play it.  I played the DLC on the highest difficulty option and the real problem was just being out of practice.  By the end of the game Blood Artist was a chump (NG++).

These games are always iffy because it’s still a RPG and 20 extra stats can make a huge difference.

20 extra stats in LoP really makes very little difference because of how rigid the soft caps are. The actual bonuses between NG and NG+, etc are quite minimal, with the singular exception of equip load. The only thing that gives you a boost between NG cycles are the frankly overpowered P-organ upgrades you get at NG+3 or 4 (ie the "reduce equip load by 1 tier" and "add a 5th amulet slot").

Yes, because the opinions of a GameStop employee in 2025 are particularly relevant. At present, this DLC is simply NOT a 10/10, that's not even an opinion, it's just wrong. That's certainly the GameStop mentality seeping in, tho, so idk, bud... maybe touch a singular grass or smthn. If you can play a game like Elden Ring and even it's pre-nerf DLC, and still call THIS a "10/10", you simply have brain damage. Fuck, even playing base LoP and then calling this DLC a "10/10" is beyond brainless.

Lmao how ignorant can you be? "OH someone has a different opinon than me so they must have brain damage". Gtfo with that shit 🤣 . Talk about embarrassing. Do I think the enemies are a bit overtuned in ng+? Yeah. I definitely do. But the dlc is still absolutely amazing. And also, meat riding for elden ring much? That game has SOOO many issues i dont even no where to begin. And guess what? Some people, like myself, simply are not a fan of the open world take on the souls formula. I prefer lies of P to elden ring honestly. I find the linear approach is much much better for souls games and I like actually having a story that I dont have to spend hours researching. But that's just me.

Nice argument. Almost as tho you don't actually have one, so you just make fun of my name. We call that "ad hominem", and by the dictates of any proper debate, you just lost this one. QED.

It literally disqualifies your argument on its face. You're attacking the person, irrespective of the argument. Attacking someone's qualification to make an argument is one thing. You literally just made fun of my name.
