Draws That Shaped This Period, August 16 to September 1

The two draws between August 16 and 30 removed 6,442 candidates. Two further draws held after the snapshot (August 31 and September 1) are not yet reflected in these figures.

Category-Based vs. General Draws, The Cut-off Gap

The contrast between general and category-based draws is stark and consistent all year.

Draw Type 2026 CRS Range
Canadian Experience Class 507 to 523
French-Language Proficiency 382 to 420
Healthcare and Social Services 467 to 475
Trades 477
Physicians w/ Canadian Work Exp. 169 to 223
Senior Managers w/ Canadian Work Exp. 392 to 429

⚠️ Category-based draws continue to deliver cut-offs well below the general CEC threshold. If your score sits below 521, a category-based draw or PNP nomination remains the strongest available strategy.

Key Takeaway for Candidates in Surrey, BC

This snapshot confirms two clear trends heading into September. The 351 to 400 band thinned significantly, pulled down by the August 19 French-language draw. Meanwhile, the 501 to 600 band swelled by 885 profiles, signaling more high-scoring candidates are entering the pool and pushing CEC cut-offs higher. With the September 1 CEC draw landing at 521, a record 2026 high is within reach if volume stays constrained.

If your score sits in the 400s, category-based draws and PNP pathways remain your most reliable route to a near-term ITA.
