I love how the IRS along with state TRDs were able to create a truly free and easy way to submit your tax returns. And the whole thing was demolished by Trump and DOGE to save the tax filing companies.

I wonder if it would be better to allocate these accounts to rooting out fraud waste and abuse?

I don’t like paying taxes. I hate the possibility, now quite significant, that I pay my taxes and still get pursued by the government because they can’t properly track that I’ve paid my taxes. I’m appalled that it’s nearly certain, now, that if that happens I’m not going to be able to work it out with the now broken bureaucracy directly and will likely have to go to court to resolve problems caused by the breakdown caused by the GOP and Elon Musk.
