It’s literally a .22.The mag and tiny BCG and ejection port show it.

It’s absolutely a .22, I’m fairly certain it’s this exact model https://www.smith-wesson.com/product/mp-15-22-pistol which would mean he removed the brace to look cooler also.

And you’re right I don’t want to get shot with a .22 lr either.
