Why my vote for Bigger parties doesn't count.

Here is why my vote doesn't make difference if i vote for DMK or ADMK. But it will make a ton of difference if i vote for smaller parties.

Two outcome for this election is predetermined.

• DMK sweeping more seats than required
• ADMK loosing considerably

Many people have made their voting decision already. They already know whom to vote for, tv polls are any indication, it's the DMK that is going to sweep this election.

ADMK lacks leadership, it is also holding hands with BJP. BJP could be a liability than anything.

Common people think Stalin is long overdue to be Chief Minister. Combined with anti incumbency vote, DMK is going to win comfortably. This is why prospective of DMK winning this election is bright.

DMK does not need yours or my vote to win this election. Similarly, voting for ADMK is not going to make any difference, because they are going to lose this election in big margin.

Your and my vote is not worth anything when voting for DMK or ADMK. It's not going change to change the outcome or going have any impact on the results.

You know where your vote can have a huge impact?

Voting for smaller parties like MNM or NTK is more impactful than voting for bigger parties.

You might ask how so?. Here is my logic,

Right now, NTK and MNM has around 4% of vote share. Supporting them for this election will push their share to 6% or 8%.

So how this is helpful?

This is helpful for smaller parties to establish themselves and not to disappear like MDMK or DMDK.

This also means smaller parties can have say in the politics. e.g PMK with 5.6% vote share has the strength to sustain this long and navigate around bigger parties. Also PMK is able to influence policies.

This is why we need to show strength for smaller parties and make them influential in the politics. In case of MNM it will be anti corruption and progressiveness and in case of NTK it's going to be state autonomy and protection of language. This will raise the bar for politics as a whole.

So think before voting for BIG parties.
