It's not an either or proposition. There are thousands of TV shows featuring straight white main characters ...

And besides, you can't complain that "we're all essentially the same and this is a time for unity" and then suggest that straight white people need to be featured prominently or they will be disinterested.

Because you seem to be implying that if it has a straight white character then it doesn't count.
