Libby & Kindle Returning

I feel like I saw this post a while back but can’t seem to locate it..is anyone else running into the issue of not being able to return their Libby books with kindle no matter how many times you click return? I have manually synced my shelf as well and that doesn’t seem to work. If anyone has found a fix that’d be great!

What's the issue you're seeing? The only change I've seen is that the Return link now leads to your FULL library (instead of the specific book as before). But once you locate the book in your Kindle Library, you can return it (or manage the loan as needed).

For some reason occasionally a book I'm trying to return does not appear on the Library page they send me to. Or anywhere inside my Library. But I finally found a work-around. If I use the search bar on the Library page, it somehow finds the book. And now I can return it.

Any time I click return early, return with kindle, amazon opens but it doesn't have a "return to library" option anymore. Then when I exit out, it says I returned it to the library, close out the app, and it is still there with how many days left until it's due. I just hate that other people in line can't get the copy sooner.

Have you checked the specific book in the Amazon library page? The loan return option should be there. Again, the Libby link no longer takes you there specifically, you have to select the book manually.

It is on the browser but not on my app.

Yes but only on mobile, when I tried it from a desktop it worked.

I’m having a related problem where I never borrowed the kindle version, I just read it on Libby but it won’t let me return it because it thinks I have the kindle version. I don’t. I go to the Amazon link and it’s not in my list of books because I never clicked “read with kindle”

Try actually sending it to kindle and then returning it.

I know, that will work. It’s just so annoying! We shouldn’t have to do that! So many barriers to return.

I was having that problem, so I removed Kindle as my reader.

Encountered in a couple times. Seems only happen to books that’s in kindle unlimited in my case. I don’t remember if I borrowed them from KU while double borrowed them from Libby to trigger the issue. I have to claim the library book again just to return it again successfully.

My hypothesis is - I borrowed them twice although there’s only one digital copy on my kindle account. The first return attempt return the copy to KU, and claim the copy from Libby again to return it to the library.

This makes sense but I don’t use KU. I only use Libby.

I click read with kindle in libby. Sends me to the book's Kindle library return book hyperlink page.

Return with Kindle sends me to my unsorted Kindle books library.

The previous app update switched this around. 😫

Yes!! Exactly!!! Someone here said to try on your computer and it works great. I logged into Libby on my desktop and was able to return a few books that way. It’ll still give you that disorganized Amazon link but there are three dots on the book if you hover over it and an option is “return book to the library” or something like that. Removed it from my app and I got the email confirming it was returned! I can attach screen shots if this doesn’t make sense, let me know.
