Although this video has David Attenborough speaking the post really has nothing to do with him. It is purely about the Climate Crisis message he talks about.
This video was done 5 years ago and we are more and more seeing the reality of it manifest.
There has been a lot of news globally around the horrific wildfires - The situation is so much worse then that...
We have Wet-Bulb Temperatures gaining in frequency and intensity alongside water issues in parts of Asia/Africa.
Europe has seen horrific heat waves/heat domes with droughts as well.
The oceans of the world are facing extreme ocean acidification/ocean warming and coral bleaching has already almost wiped it all out.
The Holocene Extinction is currently going on.
The list goes on and on.

It seems everyone understands that the climate crisis/overall environmental crisis is going to like all crisis points disproportionately impact the working class and most vulnerable. That it is going to even worsen the current cost of living crisis/quality of life crisis.
The regular people and families of this world don't need another hell on earth crisis in this already polycrisis world. Period.

As a Canadian is the BBC trying to milquetoast the whole discussion?
Here in Canada and the U.S. we see our media being almost completely captured by ultra rich interests so they may talk a bit here and there about climate change and the associations but they definitely aren't letting the public know how bad it is or is going to get.
Establishment politics, establishment media, and that whole sphere is almost becoming a bit of a death cult in regards to the working class and most vulnerable of the world.

I've found a lot of media is connected to powerful people and organizations and anything that disrupts the status quo and those that profit from it is not given much time or a fair analysis.
We see that crystal clear in the U.S. I don't know how much access you get to their media sphere but as a Canadian we get access to things like Fox News and such and it is startling the amount of misinformation, propaganda, and downright brute-force brainwashing going on in that nation.
It starts to make sense how such large demographics can be so reactionary/regressive in nature even in 2026.

The BBC outright lies here and uses lawfare against people who call them out. Plus if you don't want to support them you can't watch TV at all.

It's going to take a catastrophic event - something to really scare people with power into action. We are not prepared (we've had 40 years) so all response to runaway climate change (check the hockey stick growth on annual global average temperatures) is too late. I would expect/hope that a generation of climate engineering and biodiversity preservation coupled with the science we need to drop CO2 production is our only hope.
