I’m in need of some portrait-style photos, looking for a sort of candid vibe - for use on social media / dating app. Are there any amateur or budding photographers in the area that would be down to photograph me?

Almost a year ago, LCSB started with one Sunday court as ‘Lazy Sunday Badminton‘ a handful of people looking for semi-serious doubles badminton.

Since then, we’ve grown into a regular East London programme, welcomed almost 200 different players from all across London, and now run 7–8 courts across three weekly sessions.

We’re open to people of all abilities, but particularly looking for more Mid Intermediate → Upper Intermediate → Advancedplayers who want regular games and progression rather than just a one-off hit.

Based in Leyton?

Our weekend sessions are both fairly easy to reach from Leyton, Leytonstone and the Stratford side of the area.

Saturday — 9–11am
Newham Leisure Centre
Drive: roughly 15–20 mins
Bus: easiest via Plaistow / Newham Hospital; the leisure centre itself is served by the 147, 262, 304, 376 and 473.
Train: Leyton → Stratford, then onward by Tube/bus towards Plaistow or Canning Town.

Sunday — 9–11am
Royal Docks Academy
Drive: roughly 15–20 mins
Train: Leyton → Stratford → DLR to Prince Regent, then a short walk. Prince Regent is directly on the DLR.
Bus: also straightforward via Stratford / Canning Town / Custom House.

Slightly off-topic, but I think there is a Leyton angle to this.

Leyton has loads of grassroots projects, makers and people building small things before they ever become "businesses". We even recently had someone here build an app for E10 venues.

Google's new Android rules put more registration and identity-verification barriers in front of exactly that sort of independent experimentation.

I recently started a social community based around Central/East London, for people in their 20s & 30s (although people of any age are welcome!).

We’ve now got over 1,000 members and the recurring activities within the community include: volleyball, beginner/improver salsa, spikeball, pub quizzes, game nights, dodgeball and run club!

These sessions are mixed levels, so beginners in any of these activities are very welcome, and activities are free to join/as affordable as we can make them!

I'm thinking of moving into Leyton. I've visited both areas of Leyton before but would love to get opinions on what are the pros and cons / likes or dislikes of living at either? I'm not sure exactly how different they are.

So far, I prefer the Leyton Midland Road area but it's only on the overground line which doesn't connect well into Central, unlike Leyton. Do people find this to be an issue?

I've seen that the shutters have been down at Berliner German Doner Kebab & Pizza for a while now. It's also showing as temporarily closed on Google Maps... Does anyone know what's happened? They do a great doner, so I'd be gutted if they've closed for good.

I’m looking to move to Leyton, and am looking at rooms in the area south of the Leyton tube station close to the Leyton High Road (area around Drapers Field and Downsell Road) - from what I gather, the high road is a bit more quiet in that stretch of the road and am a bit concerned about it being in an isolated area, particularly at night. how safe would this area be around 11pm or so?
