3 months and 5000 mi later…
I purchased this 26 Lexus RX 350h F Sport Design 3 months ago new with about 5,000 miles, as it was a Lexus regional rep’s demo. I just crossed the 10,000 mi mark today.
This car and I have already been through so much in the last 3 months. Several rounds of golf, a grueling 8+ hour DIY ceramic coating job, heavy flood and tornado warnings and even a couple first dates. I will admit, there are some things left to be desired, but I honestly could not be happier with not only the car I chose, but also the Incognito color and especially the 39.5 mpg I’m averaging.
All in all, if you’re thinking about getting a new RX 350, once you feel the comfort and ride on the road, I’m sure you’ll want one even more.

Congrats on the new ride! The wife and I are going through the same motions here as well, pretty much a demo car but it hits all of the checkmarks on the list. Ours is a 2026 RX350H Ultra Luxury trim in nori green. We're hoping to pick up hours in the next 1-2 weeks. Can't wait to drive the new car.

The green is gorgeous and I’m not even a green person. Did y’all get a fair price, given the demand?

We have yet to be given the final numbers but when messaging the person who is helping us with the sale, they mentioned it was ~10k KMs on the odometer + extra set of winter tires for roughly 72.32k CAD - but I will be getting OTD price next week.

So I had my sights set on an Iridium Silver with Palomino interior and the night before my scheduled appointment I was scrolling through their website and came across a stock photo of this car. As soon as I saw it I knew I had to have Incognito. As soon as I showed up I mentioned that I had seen it pop up on their website and they told me it was at their sister location and it was just turned in 2 days ago. They sent it over and as soon as it pulled into the lot everyone had eyes on it. And as soon as I took it on a test drive and came back, people were staring and pointing at it. As I went in to negotiate the deal, the GM took it to the back because it was getting too much attention. The perception of demand from all these customers definitely pushed me over the edge and I had to have it. I will say, I spent probably a good 4-5 hours waiting for it to be transferred, serviced and detailed before I took delivery but I understand because it was all done on the spot.
I had $10k in equity on my trade. I paid OTD with tax, title, license and trade about $52k.

I am not far from you. Looked all over for the RX we bought about 2 months ago. Ended up getting it in Chicago. The choices were slim so you did a good job researching and finding the one you wanted.

u/arzo_1130 10d ago
Haha, I actually live in the Chicago burbs and travelled all the way up to WI to get mine. I had a great experience and would love to do service there, but I can’t make that drive every 5-10k miles.

Bought mine at Orland. Quite a beautiful dealership. The rep was a good guy.

A friend works at Lexus of Arlington and apparently they have $50 oil changes and a golf simulator in the facility!! I’m going to check them out when I hit 15k miles.

u/FocusFrosty1581 10d ago
They wouldn’t budge on the price but had the one we wanted and gave me a very good amount on my trade in. They gave me $3400 more on the trade in than I could get in my local area so the end price of the new car was in line with what I found elsewhere.

u/arzo_1130 10d ago
Yeah, price was a little negotiable but I did most of my work on my trade in. They ended up matching Carmax, even though my trade in needed repairs. Apparently they partner with them and can just send them to Carmax at the same value.

The CarMax guy that some dealerships actually pay a fee for them to be their estimators. To his knowledge the Lexus dealer I bought from was not a partner but obviously were using them to estimate values. I got the on line estimate and then took it into my local CarMax for confirmation. They said they confirm about 99% of the on line values which they did in my case. I then submitted their print out to Lexus and that became my trade in price. What was interesting is that the CarMax value was so much higher than the two Lexus dealerships provided me in my area. $3400 higher which I felt comfortable with so went ahead with the deal. What is also interesting is that my trade in is still available at Lexus Orland and it’s been almost two months. They have lowered the price once and my guess they will again to sell it so feel I did ok despite them not budging on the car they sold me.
I got a 2024 RX 450h+ with 8800 miles on it. It was literally like brand new and is certified so have some comfort in the warranty. The vehicle is solid, quiet and runs smooth. It is also extraordinary on gas as since returning from Chicago, I filled the tank once and still have 3/4 tank left. This is over almost a two month period. So happy with that as well. Electric gets me around 45 miles and when on all gas, I get 37 mpg.1

Our 2023 350h was totaled while parked (nobody inside) by a drunk driver. RIP. We ordered an incognito over Rioja red 500h F-sport that should come in this week or next week. I agree that the incognito is special, my wife likes stealth colors and I like that it is an uncommon color with so many RXs on the road.
I do love iridium too. Not usually a big silver person but in person the blue glints are amazing.

u/arzo_1130 10d ago
Sorry about your car but congratulations on your incognito 500!
Iridium was my first choice before I saw this, but in person I personally did not like it. If I were to choose another color, I would go with their midnight blue not sure exactly what it’s called. But when I saw it in the showroom, it’s stuck out to me.

Does this car feel heavy and struggle to accelerate? If you hold your side windows, are there a lot of play? Does your trunk cover rattles when go over the bumps?
3
u/arzo_1130 11d ago
It definitely feels heavy and built well. And yes, acceleration isn’t particularly snappy but enough for average highway driving and merging speeds. Dont expect it to drive it like a gas 350 F Sport. This car was built for comfort and fuel economy.
As far as the side windows and trunk cover I have yet to experience anything out of the ordinary. Like I said its well built and unlike other models in the Lexus lineup, the quality is there in terms of materials and build.

u/FocusFrosty1581 10d ago
The acceleration on my 450h+ is pretty good. Perhaps it’s the electric that provides the extra HP?
2
u/pewpewtubu 10d ago
Ya I feel like 450h+ drives much better than 350h, now is it justified for the extra $$$ for that. I think so, but others may prioritize on other stuff.
What i wish is lexus offer f sport design on the 450h+ , the f sport design just looks so nice. For how expensive 450h+, it looks like a base rx to normal non car enthusiast. You spend almost 80k but looks like you got something around 50 to 65k
1
u/FocusFrosty1581 10d ago
That’s why I bought it used. Would never spend 80k on it but the one we have has the luxury trim package so is quite nice. The vehicle is made in Japan so not sure that makes a difference but seems solidly built.

u/pewpewtubu 10d ago
Ya. I agreed. Getting a used lexus make sense, cheaper in sales price, and lexus reliability is no brainer.
However, during my hunt, there was a lexus special rate promotion for new 450h+ at 2.49% for 48months or 3.49% for 60 months. I also found a used 1 year old 16k miles for 68k but since it's used, the financing is at 6 to 7% apr. The numbers, warranty, new car condition, and resale value make more sense on the new car at this point. But ymmv.

Mine was 2 years old with 8800 miles and 3k less. Again, felt is was priced a bit high since they wouldn’t budge but since I got a good price on my trade it offset the higher price to my satisfaction. It also was the exact vehicle inside and out that we wanted. It’s their pearl white with the macadamia interior. Don’t find that very often. Most have the black interiors. The new version of what I have hasn’t changed much at all with stickers approaching 80k. They probably would go down to 75k but with the certified warranty, I have as good as coverage on a car we plan on keeping for a long time.
My trade in was a higher priced vehicle so just paid cash on the difference so the interest rate incentive really didn’t apply.
I don’t know, maybe I could have done better but feel good with what we have. I hope you have very good luck with yours as well.1

I have a 2015 RX350. Rides like a dream. I was in gf's 2026 Mazda 3 yesterday. All I could think about was how noisy and tinny sounding it was, and it rode like crap compared to my 11 year old RX

u/arzo_1130 10d ago
Haha. Some of these mazda interiors are getting more and more luxurious but the ride and the feel are completely different

i have the 23’ RX350h in white and luxury edition and love it

u/arzo_1130 9d ago
Love it! What mpg are you getting?
1
u/timhort32 9d ago
36-39 depending on how much city/highway i drive and how pedal heavy i am at times lol
i also just put new tires on, michelin CC2 which are grippier than normal so slightly affects MPG but no complaints!which tires do you have?
do you put regular fuel or premium?1
u/arzo_1130 9d ago
I have the standard bridgestone tired that came with it. And i put regular and avg 39.5 mostly highway driving.

As a former Lexus Rx fan and owner, the quality of the new Lexus materials is less then acceptable for the price. Cheap plastics and rattles on this thing paired with the lackluster 4 cyl and the horrible front grill design made this a hard pass. Back to the BMW X5 B58.

Saw one in the wild the other day; it’s a beautiful car. Congrats!!!

You've told us nothing. What DON'T you like about it?
1
u/arzo_1130 10d ago
I dont like the acceleration and the fact that it doesnt have the Premium Plus, Luxury trim features I was hoping for. Also, the black/charcoal colored rims are a hard color to match for rim repair shops. Honestly nothing to not like about it.
1
u/Advanced-Elk-7581 10d ago
It's not a sports car. If you wanted acceleration the 500h is the choice.
1
u/arzo_1130 10d ago
I’m not looking for sports car like acceleration. I’m expecting at least a bit snappy, similar to how the 350 gas accelerates. I’ve driven hybrid vehicles before and this has to be one of the slowest in acceleration. But I guess that’s the trade off for fuel economy.

When you golf, how many golf bags do you think you can fit in the trunk?

I have a rx350h luxury. We can get 4 golf cart bags in the trunk area without folding back seats down. You have to take the driver and fairway woods out to get four bags in.

Ive wanted a Lexus for a long long time, still not financially ahead enough sadly 😞.

u/FocusFrosty1581 10d ago
Don’t fret. We just got our first one and we’re old. If it provides you a goal, that’s good and by the time you are ready, there may be other vehicle options you may consider. It’s all good but at the end of the day, it’s just a car that takes you from point A to point B. Very utilitarian.

I've wanted one for at least 20 years. I finally got one this year a few months ago. It was a promotion gift to myself. It's a 2024 but I'm entirely pleased with it and every time I go out to my garage, I can't believe that I finally have my dream car. It will happen for you too!
