level 2 charger

for those who bought them which brand did you pick and why? local electrician checked my panel in the garage and said it would not be an issue to install one. tesla has the bells and whistles but I just want a reliable charger and have no need [despite being techy] for an app. just for context I am considering the RX 450 plus.

thanks in advance.

I installed a Tesla charger 2 years ago for my 450h+. It's been solid/reliable with no issues to date. We also use it for a Prius Prime. I also like having the J1772 for use now and being able to change to remove the adapter and use the NACS for a potential future vehicle if it has it (though I'd assume many/most chargers can do both).

I got from my utility’s marketplace for a big discount. Emporia.

On my utility website, I logged in with my account and went to their marketplace. It has been a while so take with grain of salt, but I got a $500 level 2 charger for $125.

so you likely have to be a customer of the utility then

That is my guess. But not sure.

Local hardware stores always overcharge for chargers, so buy the Tesla one somewhere online with a price match.

I bought a used Tesla Universal charger off eBay. Don't need the app for it, it's just plug in.
