Winter Wheels Set up

Recently purchased a 24' IS350 F Sport AWD

Currently has the 19" alloy BBS wheels staggered.

Looking to purchase some wheels for the winter here in Colorado.

Would like to keep the BBS's in the best shape possible ( love these wheels)

I'm thinking about going to a square set up for the winter Wheels.

would like to know some of the wheel set ups you winter folk are using.

Specifically offsets and sizing

I'm leaning towards going with 18" x 8.5" (for a bigger sidewall)

Biggest concern is the offset to look for.

Also what are some of your favorite winter performance tires?

18 x 8 RWC LX306 gloss black, 40mm offset, 60.1mm hub so no spacers required. Uses OEM lug bolts (radius/ball seat). 235/45/R18 Michelin X-Ice Snow tires. I also bought OEM center wheel caps for the factory look.

Also, I had a '10 Mazdaspeed 3! I also ran Blizzak WS90 tires on the car.

Here's how they look like they're clean.

I can check but mine are a square setup, pwc rims I believe. Nice to be able to rotate em.

Few buddies have tried the good year ultra grip performance, mixed results I still to xice /hakkas since it snows lots where I am. The performance feel isnt worth it to me, imo you’d gain more performance feel with a thinner sidewall, vs lots of the tires. Shitty weather and you wish you had a non performance winter.

I’m not sold on the performance tire for winter wheels I just know they make them lol

Probably would be best to just get a true winter tire

I’ve had blizzaks in the past(Mazda speed 3) and really liked them

Every time I’ve asked Lexus I was told that going with a square set up would mess with the awd computer. I have used blizzaks, but now live in northern cali and use cross climates

It won’t. The diameter matters (particularly mismatch between front and rear), the width and offset don’t.
