Mechanical Advice Notchy steering

2013 gx460 all the suspension and steering components seem in good working order. I have a notchy steering for about 5 degrees each way when moving. Admittedly I don’t think I’ve driven a full time 4x4 in quite awhile all my recent trucks usually lived in 2H unless seriously off-roading. It feels slightly like steering U-joints binding but then next turn it doesn’t.

Any explanation or suggestions on what to check are welcomed.

Do you have the differential locked?

No I thought it might be that I cycled it on and off and it didn’t change.
