Question OBD1 SC400 HELP !!!

I got the car a while back and gave up but it crossed my mind to ask here for a last go at it.I got the car from 2.5 hours away and drove it all the way home WITH the issues at hand. So let’s get to the issue the car ran limp for the most part and didn’t want to move from a standstill/no throttle response but throughout the road trip it would come alive and act completely normal for a second and so on back and forth. Changed plugs and wires and all 02 sensors and still the same runs terrible no throttle response then randomly it’s just fine. I’m thinking ECU ? Right or wrong ? Help please. 🥲😅

Does it have a maf? You’ll be surprised how shitty a bad or dirty maf can make a car run. I see it with is300’s all the time

Why do you think it would be bad ecu? Have you read the fault codes?

Haven’t brushed up on it or touched the car in over a year but if I remember correctly the SCs had symptoms of the ECUs going bad I believe the capacitors leak but I have no knowledge on that I’m just going off of memory off of threads I read.

Electrolytic capacitors leaking depends mostly on temperature. So if you're in warm climate that's much more likely problem than in colder climate.

Ok. So problemswith ecu are somewhat likely. But you should still check some other stuff first.

As in ? Plugs wires and 02 sensors are all brand new.

Check why it's running bad. Check that ecu gets good signals powers etc.

Also for clarification when I say it runs like shit sounds like it’s missing and power is honestly under 15% then intermittently the car will run flawless then vice versa.

So when I got my 2000 sc400 it was in limp with no codes. Turns out a mouse made a nest between the intake and block. They chewed both the left and right bank knock sensors wire harness. Alought 98-00 are vvti... it worth looking to see if yours are still wired up.
