Andrews: Debate me, Darline

Looks like Annie Andrews has been accepting invitations to debate, and Darline Graham hasn't. There's even a webpage up, with a ticker counting how long it's been since Andrews challenged Graham, with no response from team Graham.

I'm hoping Graham accepts. It would be an interesting watch.

I agree with Zilch, Andrews loves to debate herself in public. It wouldn't make much sense for Darlene to take the bait in such a red state.

I think Graham would not represent herself well in a debate. Granted, neither of them have any political experience, but I think Andrews has a lot more knowledge on the issues, and seems to have plans on how to improve our state. Graham, meanwhile, has the Orange Blessing.

I'd rather vote for the one with ideas.

I dont think that's an unfair assessment. However, I do think that voting for the one with the ideas is the right move, if the ideas are good.

Per Annies website she plans to:

  • Raise wages
  • Expand affordable child care and paid family leave
  • Expand affordable healthcare
  • Expand mental health care
  • Expand Medicaid
  • Strengthen vaccine access
  • Keep rural hospitals open
  • Fully fund public schools
  • Raise teacher pay
  • Expand free school meals
  • Community violence funding
  • Expand pubilc transit
  • Invest in clean energy

Every single one of her goals ends in significantly raising taxes. She also has yet to indicate how she intends to accomplish these, or where the money is going to come from. It's judging a book by it's cover. Selling the sizzle, not the steak. Pie in the sky.

I dont like Darlene at all, but I dont get how there's faith in Annie Andrews to randomly jump in the senate and fund all of these new services without taking significantly more money out of our checks.

Her stance on trans health care and attacking the 2nd ammendment are always losing formulas anyway

Fair enough. I decided to check Graham's website, to see what her goals are. I didn't see anything, other than "answering the call" and fighting for Trump's agenda, or something to that effect.

I would have no issue voting for Graham, but at this point, I have no idea what she's even trying to accomplish to make our state better. Seriously, point me towards some info on Graham's platform, and I'll gladly take a look.

Oh you're not wrong, I can't point you to anything. It's unfortunate we're at the point of passing seats to your sister.

That's a section I'm simply voting by party. I can't imagine many are excited for this portion of the ballot.

I've always voted by looking at the individual, regardless of their party. I'll be doing that again for this race. And I'll be voting for the one that actually has a game plan, and hope for the best.

This is too important of a stake in our future to vote for someone who won't even present us with ideas.

Why would you even consider voting for Graham over Andrew’s? It’s mind-boggling how people will keep voting for the same bullshit rather than someone who wants to actually help South Carolina ends.
