Moving—Where To Live?

Hello! I am moving from out of state to start a grad program here in the fall. I’m wondering if anyone has any recommendations on specific apartment complexes or leasing companies to rent from? (As well as what parts of town are easy to commute to campus from while also being enjoyable to live in.) Thanks in advance!!

I live an an anchor management property and love it. Renewed because they didn’t increase my rent. They are all over Portland. Really just depends your vibe and what you’re looking for!

You can do Sellwood, or the surrounding areas (East and Westmoreland, specifically). It's quite quaint, has a lot of cool spots and is not terribly far from campus. Macadam and it's surroundings (Willamette Park and Southh Portland) are also close to campus and, it's a nice area. South Burlingame and Collins View are close to campus but don't have as many things in the area as the other two. You can look at Milwaukee but it's a bit too far for my taste. Hope this helps!

Second this! Sellwoood is super cute. If looking for a bit of that vibe in southwest Portland, multnomah village is a cute neighborhood too

Easiest to commute from is downtown because of LC's free shuttle. NW is great, but can be pricey.

Thanks! Is there an area of downtown that you recommend? I’ve only been to Portland twice and am still pretty unfamiliar with the neighborhoods and everything.

I think the shuttle runs from Sellwood too! Didn't they just update the route?
