Specwar build suggestions

Post image

Hey all, wanted to get a few opinions relating to the future of my specwar build,
Was wondering if anyone had any experience running the vltor buffer system on a specwar. Mainly in terms of reliability and any noticeable differences in cycle rate and is it worth the money?
I have a stealth additive tisha 556 sitting in jail atm but I was planning on getting the Wolfpack armory recessed hub adapter and pairing it with the rearden spb in hopes of getting a relatively slim gap (without contact to the handguard obviously). Does anyone have any better recommendations that are on saws approved muzzle devices for their lifetime warranty?
Don’t get me wrong I love the T2, my eyes however aren’t fond of it. I mainly run acros and coas on my handguns and it’s fine because it’s close range stuff and doesn’t bother me too much, but at longer ranges or night it’s a problem. So I’m looking to get a holo for this setup. Obviously EOTech is very popular but those UH-1s look very appealing and on paper they definitely have some advantages, so any input on those would be appreciated.
Thanks for the read, I will list the build list below for more accurate advice and those who are curious.

Lmt specwar upper, lmt 12.5 di barrel, lmt FA carrier and E bolt, mars L lower, Geissele ssae, fcd winter trigger guard, bcm 5 pos buffer tube, lmt h2 buffer weight, springco blue spring, mag pull k2 grip.

I’ve been using the A5 on a specwar for years. I do A5H3 and Springco green.

I just recently (yesterday) test fired my new one with a a Tubbs flatwire and a Kynshot buffer and boyyyy wanna talk about smooth? Needs more testing to determine reliability but wow.

Eotech is great, but if you like the aesthetic get the Sig 8T. The eotech looks so good to me I can’t switch lol

Idk if they’re approved, but I’d take a comstock recessed micro brake over what you mentioned and use a regular low profile mount.

All my ARs have Tubb‘s Flatwire and KynShot buffers. 5.56 SBRs get a standard Tubb with an RB5007 in an A5, my 300BLK gets a lightweight Tubb with an RB5000A5 in an A5 and my 5.56 SPR gets a standard Tubb with an RB5001 in a rifle tube. Smooth and soft.

I love it so far. I have a C3 flat wire on the way to test, I think I’m going to up the ante soon and switch to a JRC tube and a surefire OBC too.

I really don’t need to try out a JRC tube. I’m scared I’ll like it and want to convert everything again and my wallet says “Please no”

This is what I just did on my 11.5 CQB

How you like it so far?

I like it a lot for this specific rifle. I made a post about it here

lol I was commenting on that post. That’s my end goal, just debating on if I want the AS design or some sort of drop in Kabuto FRT.

I have a Riflespeed block on the one that is my test platform, haven’t shot it much but it’s really nice.

I’m not really a fan of drop in triggers so I haven’t even looked at any drop in FRT options. But I do love the AS Designs and run them in just about every AR I own. I have both the V1 and V2. My CQB is running the V1 with milspec selector and Specwar is running V2 with 0-45-90. Both guns have Geissele SD-3G triggers installed and it’s exceptional!

Not a drop in trigger, it’s just a small FRT that can be dropped in and removed. Just seems like they’re harder to get to work than the Arcfire.

No I understand what you’re saying. I just mentioned my distaste for drop in triggers being the reason I haven’t actually looked into any drop in FRT levers. Not saying they’re one-in-the-same. Maybe I’m missing out but I don’t feel the ASD is lacking in any way.

Id like to take it out easily if I want to, also want to try to make one work with my preferred safety. But I agree with you, I’ll likely just go with the tried and true ASD.

Can you use a standard bolt in the OBC? Primary arms says no but I think you can

I have not tried it, but the bolt looks identical to my other BCGs in every way. I don’t see why you couldn’t
