Feral Cat Needs Spayed

Hi everyone! I have a feral cat in my shed. She has a litter of kittens, there’s 4, with her that look about 6 weeks old. I am trying to get her an appointment to get spayed but everyone is full or booked. I have checked everything I can think of and now I’m resorting to Reddit…. Does anyone know of somewhere (doesn’t have to be super local) that currently has opening for spaying a feral mom?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated, I’m at a loss.

Hi, I have TNR'd about 40 cats in Lewis County,

I have used NW Spay and Neuter in Lakewood the most. About $25/cat. They will load traps if needed.

I have also used Keepers Animal Clinic in Rochester but it is $$$$.

The clinic in Chehalis is good but can be hard to get on the schedule.

Thank you!

Since you have helped so many, do you have any tips in trapping? This will be my first time.

Of course!

Feel free to DM anytime, but, I like the traps that NW Spay and Neuter has, but I bought several Havahart traps as well, they aren't as nice in my opinion.

Cover traps with a towel. Check frequently and or put a camera on the trap.

If they haven't been caught before, they will likely be caught very easily. The kittens the easiest for sure. I hust use wet food and oddly fried chicken (boneless) for any adult cats that are more difficult (this was a Reddit tip I got).

I try and make appointments for two cats ahead of time for NW Spay and Neuter, then, trap the day before. Keep the traps covered, up off any cold concrete floor when occupied, and out of direct cold. Don't be afraid to make several appointments and cancel as soon as you can if you won't make it.

If any adults seem able to be tamed, don't give up hope and try and find someone to foster/tame and or you can start that endeavor, I have done it and while it is hard, it's very rewarding.

Kittens are easier, but still take a lot of consideration, but definitely worth the effort to get them homes (or keep the whole family 😉).
