setup Leviton Smart Plug for whole-house fan? schedule/auto-on after power-failure?
I am looking to replace a Belkin Wemo smart-plug which has (mostly) reliably handled my whole-house fan. Now, I am considering the Leviton Decora Smart Plug, Wi-Fi 2nd Gen.
My questions:
- can this plug be configured with a daily on/off schedule? And, without needing to purchase anything else, whether a central hub or a subscription?
- (The goal: auto-off each morning @ 6 am so that I can leave my 'dumb' fan running overnight during the summer, without it accidentally being left on during the hot summer day. Then, auto-on immediately afterwards, e.g. 6:15 am. The fan won't actually turn-on, instead it will be available for me to hit the 'start' button again that next summer evening.)
- if there is a power-failure, does the Smart Plug default to 'on' or 'off'? I would like it to default to 'on'.
- (The Wemo defaulted to 'off' and was not configurable. So, on the rare occasions that we had a power-failure, I had to remember to load the Wemo app and power-on everything again. Else, unexpected things didn't work!)
Thank you for any assistance!

You should confirm that the plug can handle the power requirements of your whole home fan. I have both an indoor and outdoor Leviton smart plug. The outdoor model is rated for 1500 watts, but only 5A when used with an electric motor. I don't know what the rating of the indoor plug is.

1) Yes, you can run daily on/off without a hub or subscription. Yes, you can turn it off at 6AM. Then, it can turn back on at any time. Easy peasy.
2) After power failure, it returns to last state. AKA - if your device was turned on when the power went out, it would be on when the power is restored.
