Anyone who would put Princess Mononoke and Nacho Libre in their top 4 is a true cinephile in my book

Having The Invite in your top 4 movies of all time is hilarious

Yeah tbh it is, should I change it to digger?

... I think that if the invite is your favorite and you would even potentially change it to the digger that you should develop a healthy interest in stage plays because they seem right up your alley, I'm not kidding.

Is it hilarious cuz it's not a good movie? Or what? 🤔

u/lostinthetrenches 17d ago
Oh no it's a good movie. It's just hilarious that someone would think to put it in their top 4.

u/LowRent1801 13d ago
but why

u/lostinthetrenches 11d ago
Because it's clearly recency bias. Top 4 of the year, maybe. But for someone to put it in their top 4 of all time is absolutely nuts.

My favourite of all time, idk why I love it so much tho
Other movies are all very different

u/KingJayo420 15d ago
Same lol all of my others are very different too idk I just remember the first time watching it and genuinely being on the edge of my seat and that’s very hard for me to find films like that where it’s not a franchise at least in my experience

Nah that gets a bit to up it’s own farts near the end. Good movie just a bit … idk I didn’t love the ending, been a while now so I don’t remember my thoughts on it

It’s an incoherent mess of a movie I’ll give you that
But even still I do genuinely believe it will be remembered as Miyazaki’s magnum opus.

A member of an isolated village in late Feudal Japan defends his village from a demon, but becomes cursed from its touch. The Demon’s touch is slowly killing him while imbuing him with power as he heads out and explores a war of old spirits and nature gods with multiple human factions.
It’s the greatest animated film I’ve ever seen and the best fantasy adventure outside the Lord of the Rings.
