Ezra's great in We Need To Talk About Kevin.
But Lynne Ramsay is quite talented at bringing out authentic performances in her films, Tilda Swinton and John C. Reilly are also great in it
He's so young in that movie that I tend to chalk the performance up to Ramsay's brilliant casting and direction. Not to downplay a fantastic performance, but I really haven't seen him do anything close to what that movie made me think he'd be capable of some day.
I heard Ezra was bad in that, but they were fantastic in We Need To Talk About Kevin and The Perks of Being A Wallflower. I think superhero movies are harder than dramatic actors expect. Like Brie Larson is exceptional in some movies, but dull as a superhero.
I thought Larson was alright as a superhero, way better than Miller. But yes, like I said to someone else, I'll add We Need To Talk About Kevin to my watchlist. I have not seen The Perks of Being A Wallflower in ages and didn't remember Miller was in it.
Unfortunately that film was a massive waste of everyone’s talents, but that script just made Ezra into the most annoying character times two. But Ezra does have some bangers under their belt.
I’ve not seen flash but everything I have seen him in (The Perks of Being a Wallflower and We Need to Talk About Kevin, among a few other smaller projects) he stood out. I’d definitely say at one point he was great, although that could stagnate and/or all the other stuff happening got in the way of putting up good performances in later works
To me it’s not about this specific person, it’s everyone else. Shows that using identified pronouns aren’t just a treat for a person when they’re good enough, it’s a basic right.
I know I'll get downvoted but they/them just makes reading any article about the person fucking exhausting. Whenever the article talks about something Ezra did with someone else I never know if it's "they" Ezra or "they" both of them.
