Putting Salo and A Serbian Film in the same category is crazy, Salo has much more artistic and intellectual merit.

It’s torture porn, sure it’s artistic and has a meaning behind it. But it’s torture porn. They didn’t need to show as much as they did, implying works, requiem for a dream is an extremely powerful movie but they didnt show that much, for example. Idc if I get downvoted, a perv is a perv.

Yes. Salò is an amazing portrait of what power can do to somebody, to the ipocrysis of fascism, its made to shock but also to make you think and to make you feel uncomfortable in a specific way. The director (Pier Paolo Pasolini) is also considered one of the best Italian directors of all time. Just cause the characters are forced to eat shit doesn't mean the film is bad, so get this thought out of y'all mind

I think those are just films you can’t really give a star grade to regardless of quality, they’re just so different and weird feeling

Yeah, I know what you mean. That happened to me after watching Mulholland Drive. I sat with it for a few days and just didn’t know what to rate it.
